Great location two very different championship courses. Classic open Old Course and a shot maker dream New Course.

Atalaya has two Championship courses.
The Old Course with wide and open fairways and a park like feeling is a great course for walking. It is one of those courses that can be played time and time again and never gets old. Each round provides new challenges and opportunities.
The New Course, which unfortunately is temporarily closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, is a shot makers dream. The fairways are tight and precision is key to success. For someone like myself who hits a shorter ball yet is reliably straight, the course is perfect. The views of the Med and Gibraltar are magnificent. Some walk, but because the course is quite hilly a buggy is often recommended.

Two great championship courses, the Old Course is a traditional parkland course with wide fairways and where a wayward shot rarely affects the score. This is a course for long hitters, and length off the tee is necessary to score well, this is not a great course for Ladies and Young players who are not long off the tee. There are many teeing options for Men but not for other players. The New Course is a true shotmakers course, not long but requires precision and course management. You can score well on the New Course if you use your head, but if you think you can power your way around it you will have an embarrassing score.

I have played both courses numerous times and love the overall quality and "good feel" of this Golf Club. I particularly like the old course as I prefer to push my manual trolley and walk the course. Good value for money.

I have played this golf course numerous times and its always in very good condition. Facilities are good with a few different chipping greens, bunker area etc. The driving range is excellent but a long way from the course itself. There is an excellent little half way hut which is ideally situated next to the 1st tee and putting green and 20 meters away from the 9th green so its an ideal for a drink or snack before, after or half way through the round.
There are two courses here. The old far better than the new.
My only criticism is that the layout is not the most interesting. A lot of long straight par 4's and 5's with wide fairways and with little trouble either side of the fairways. Not really a course you would want to play on a regular basis.
Its very flat and therefore an easy walk.

Old course is easy to walk and therefore also very enjoyable - well done layout - and a course also suitable for high handicappers. New course is "crazy"... too many almost non-playable holes and impossible to get through without a buggy.

Awesome overall impression. Fantastic location, unique experience with groomed fairways and extraordinary well refined greens. The old course is well preserved and has some decent innovations (tee no 1) - elegant classic pleasure at its best. The new course is suprising and challenging - also at its best - with splendid panoramic views.

The grass was in good condition.
Friendly people at the clubhouse
Possible to do without a buggy (minor point is that it is quite expensive to rent a buggy).

We had a great time playing both courses at Atalaya Golf. A lot has changed for the better since the last time we visited Atalaya more than 10 years ago. Both courses are well-maintained, The old course is even better than we remembered, an excellent parkland course looks a little like our home course. The new course is challenging and lot of fun for players like us from the lowlands... and beautiful views! You do need a buggy to play the new course. The terrace is very nice. They just started renovating the bar and restaurant so we didn't eat at Atalaya. We hope to come back next year.
